ABOUT US

MISSION STATEMENT

The Society’s mission is to provide safe, affordable, well-maintained housing for eligible senior citizens at the Jewish Community Apartments.

Bertha Gold Jewish Seniors Residence opened in 1979 as the Jewish Community Apartments under the management of the Calgary Jewish Senior Citizens Apartments Society, and was renamed in 2012 to honour the Society’s founding and long-time chair, Bertha Gold. The management of the building is conducted by the Society under the terms of an agreement between the Province, The Calgary Jewish Centre (CJC) & Jewish Family Services Calgary (JFSC), and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.

All staff and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere for our residents. We pride ourselves on being responsive to their needs, and encourage their contributions to their own sense of community.
